Annual Christmas parade hit milestone anniversary

GEORGETOWN, Del. –  The streets were decked with boughs of holly for their annual Christmas parade at The Circle Thursday night.

Those who attended enjoyed marching bands, first responders, plenty of customized floats, along with 47ABC’s Ulises Garcia and photographer Trevor Taylor in our weather van.

The event, now in its 50th year, has become a family tradition for many.

“I’ve been coming to this as long as I can remember, come every year, I live right down the street, so we walk up actually,” said Georgetown resident Bo Shockley. “I see friends and neighbors out here that I’ve known for a long time, so it’s great to see them.”

The Chrismas festivities aren’t done in Georgetown either, you can catch Santa on The Circle Friday nights, and at the train station on Saturday nights until Christmas.
