Winter months approach; animal shelters looking for cold weather items

SALISBURY, Md. – The temps are going to be getting a little cooler these next couple of weeks. That means local animal shelters need cold weather items.

Folks over at the Wicomico County Humane Society say as it gets colder they need blankets and beds so they can stay warm.

The shelter is better able to accommodate their furry residents when they have more of these items, making shelter life a little easier.

Elizabeth Odom, adoption coordinator said, “The blankets and the kennels, with the dogs, it helps keep them cozy and give them a feeling of being in a home. The beds – we don’t put in the kennels with the dogs because they tend to like to chew them up, so we actually send them home with the care packages when the dogs get adopted.”
