Town Cats center of attention in Fun Run
OCEAN PINES, Md. – Runners took time out of their busy shopping weekend to lace up their shoes for the second annual ThanksKitten Fun Run in Ocean Pines Saturday morning.
The event is put on by CrossFit Assateague gym, and it benefits the organization called Town Cats.
Town Cats works to enrich the lives of free-roaming, feral, or abandoned cats in the Ocean City area by controlling the population and providing medical care and affordable adoption services.
Those who attended brought with them monetary donations, as well as donations of items needed like food, cat litter and gas cards for spay and neuter runs.
“That’s our goal is not just to raise money, but awareness as well. And help people find a way to adopt cats, and maybe stop populating the earth with more, but go ahead and adopt and rescue,” said Michelle Macia, the gym manager at CrossFit Assateague.
The organization is always looking for donations , if you want to help the cause and local cats and kittens, you can find them at their website.
