Smyrna man found in possession of methamphetamine and manufacturing materials at Del. hospital

DOVER, Del. – A Smyrna man is facing charges after he was found in possession of materials related to manufacturing crystal methamphetamine in a local hospital emergency room Monday evening.

Just before 6 PM, 41-year-old Christopher Honaker was in the Kent General Hospital emergency room with an acquaintance when hospital staff discovered that a backpack belonging to Honaker contained materials and contents related to manufacturing methamphetamine.

Hospital staff then notified Dover Police, who confirmed the contents of the backpack. Police also found approximately 108.4 grams of suspected methamphetamine inside the backpack.

Honaker was arrested and charged with operation of a clandestine lab, possession of methamphetamine (Tier 5 qty), possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine, and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was committed to Sussex Correctional Institution in default of $40,500 secured bond.
