Single vehicle accident results in various DUI charges for PA man

EDEN, Md. – A Pennsylvania man is facing various DUI charges after police say he was involved in a single vehicle crash Thursday afternoon.

The incident occurred just before 2 PM Thursday, when members of the Maryland State Police Salisbury Barrack responded to a report of a single vehicle accident involving a tractor trailer in the area of Route 13 southbound at Stockyard Road, in Eden.

The driver, 62-year-old Robert Wireman, of Drum, PA, allegedly failed to maintain control of the loaded tractor trailer he was driving, causing it to drift off the highway and overturn.

No other vehicles were involved in the incident, and the driver did not sustain injuries as a result.

Troopers say that during the course of the investigation, they began to believe that Wireman was under the influence of alcohol, and administered field sobriety tests. Wireman was taken into custody and was transported to the Wicomico County Detention Center for his initial appearance.
