Showcase of Schools to be held as a highlight event for Wicomico Schools

SALISBURY, Md. –  Wicomico County Public Schools is throwing a big party this weekend as part of its 150th anniversary celebration.

The Showcase of Schools will take place Saturday at the Salisbury Mall with participation from all 26 county schools.

The celebration will include exhibits that center around the public schools STEM programs, career and technology education programs, voice and performing arts students and more.

Performances will include the Mardela and Bennett marching bands, along with various choirs, and drum lines.

“We want to show that this is our 150th year.  It’s a birthday celebration.  Dr. Hanlin just wants to let people know of all the great things going on during our birthday celebration, our 150th year,” said Paul Butler, director of communications for Wicomico County Public Schools.

The party starts Saturday morning at 10 AM and runs through 1 PM.

10:00 AM – James M. Bennett Marching Band

10:20 AM – Wicomico Middle School Drumline

10:40 AM – James M. Bennett Chorus

11:00 AM – Pinehurst Elementary Choir

11:20 AM – Delmar Elementary Singing Bobcats

11:40 AM – Mardela Middle & High School Band

12:00 PM – Wicomico High School Marching Band

12:20 PM – Pinehurst/Fruitland Intermediate/Northwestern Elementary Combined Strings
