Seaford Police Department accepting applications for first ever Citizens Police Academy
SEAFORD, Del. – In Delaware, The Seaford Police Department is now accepting applications for their first ever citizens police academy. Officials say the 8 week program is designed to provide an overview of both the law enforcement and community related functions of the department.
They add that there are 20 seats available where you can receive classroom and hands on instruction. Some of the topics covered during the academy include defensive tactics, officer involved shootings, range and firearms safety, and more.
“We really care about our community, and we want our community to be involved with us and we want them to know how we operate on a day to day basis and we want them to know our policies and our procedures and how we handle things and why we do the things that we do, “said Cpl. Frank Bradley.
Bradley says hat classes will be held every Wednesday from 6 to 9 PM starting on January 23rd. He adds that the department will be accepting applications for the academy until December 15th.
