Rep. Andy Harris re-elected for Maryland’s first district congressional seat

ANNAPOLIS, Md. – Representative Andy Harris won the race against democratic newcomer Jesse Colvin and Libertarian Jenica Martin for Maryland’s first district congressional seat.

Representative Andy Harris won the election by a margin of 61 percent to Colvin’s 37 percent.

The congressman expressed gratitude for the Eastern Shore’s support in this election.

He then told us about what he plans to work on in his fifth term.

Rep. Harris (R) said, “Well the biggest thing we have to do is we have to make sure that our agriculture industry and tourism industry can go forward. We have to solve our worker issue, there’s no question about for our seafood industry and I’m going to work hard for that starting next week.”

Representative Harris stressed that his team worked hard on this campaign, and he takes no vote for granted.

He says he is humbled that the people of the shore are sending him back to Washington.
