Rehoboth Beach Police arrest man following investigation into September incident
REHOBOTH BEACH, Del. – A Rehoboth man has been arrested after he reportedly threatened a female with a knife in late September.
The investigation began on Sunday, September 23rd, when Rehoboth Beach Police responded to a home on Columbia Avenue, after a third party caller reported hearing a female yelling for help. When police arrived on scene, they found two female victims and through further investigation determined that the female victims were confronted by 38-year-old Carl M. Bowen, who was inside the residence when they returned home.
According to witnesses, Bowen was upset and screaming at the victims, one of whom Bowen reportedly had a No Contact Order with as a result of a previous incident that he was arrested for on August 18th. During the altercation, Bowen allegedly held a steak knife to this victim’s throat, and threatened the lives of both victims.
Bowen had already fled the scene when police arrived, leading to the issuance of warrants for Bowen’s arrest following an unsuccessful search of the area.
On October 31st, Bowen appeared in the Court of Common Pleas in Georgetown, for trial on charges stemming from the August 18th incident, where he was taken into custody for the September 23rd incident.
Bowen was charged with one count of felony aggravated menacing, two counts of misdemeanor terroristic threatning, and one count of offensive touching. He was released on $4,000 unsecured bail.
