PRMC lighting holiday star in memory of fallen state trooper

SALISBURY, Md. – Peninsula Regional Medical Center will soon light up their holiday star in memory of a fallen Maryland State Trooper.

The star, measuring 22 feet from tip to tip, will be lit on Friday November 23rd, and will remain lit throughout the holiday season.

PRMC began the lighting in 1995, following the death of Maryland State Police Trooper First Class Edward A. Plank, Jr., who was lost in the line of duty in the same year. The star has been the centerpiece of PRMC’s holiday decorating ever since. It also serves as a tribute to the hospital’s close working relationship with local emergency responders and law enforcement officers.

Peninsula Regional is asking all residents to take a moment during the holiday season to thank our local emergency responders, law enforcement officers, and friends and family serving in the military, as well as to remember our heroes like Trooper Plank who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our safety.
