Princess Anne Police Department looking for new officer

PRINCESS ANNE, Md. – It’s no secret that in today’s political environment, it can be hard to find people who want to be police officers.

The lack of officers is taking a toll on some of our local police departments and right now, the Princess Anne Police Department is on the search for a new officer.

The Department says they are a family oriented, proactive agency.

They encourage their officers to train and build upon their skills and they even offer take home vehicle programs.

All you have to do to become an officer at the Princess Anne Police Department is visit their office, fill out an application, submit it in November then perform a written and physical test in December.

As for what type of candidate they’re looking for, Chief Timothy Bozman explained,”We’re looking for candidates that are 21 years or older. We prefer certified police officers that we call lateral transfer, but we’ll also test people looking to get into the career and send them to the police academy in January.”

If you’re already certified to be a police officer and you’ve worked with another agency, you can come in and get a higher pay as a starting officer because of your service.
