Police investigating weekend home invasion in Dover

DOVER, Del. – Dover Police are investigating a reported home invasion that took place in the Capital Green neighborhood early Sunday morning.

Police say that between 1:00 AM and 1:20 AM, six unknown male suspects entered a residence in the 400 block of East Water Street through the front door.

The suspects were reportedly armed with handguns and demanded items on entry. Two of the suspects hit a 57-year-old male victim in the back of the head with a handgun, resulting in a laceration. The suspects ransacked the residence and took cash and a gold chain from the victim before fleeing the scene.

The victim was taken to Bayhealth Kent General Hospital for treatment of his injuries.
