Perryville rolls off 32 unanswered to end Cambridge’s season

The Cambridge Vikings playoff run ended just one game in, as they fell 32-7 at home to Perryville in the 1A East region semifinal on Friday night.

The Vikings took a 7-0 lead in the first quarter off a 36-yard touchdown from QB John Henry to Logan Middleton. Perryville would strike back quickly, with QB Tyler Nasuta finding a diving Braden Yadlosky for a 4-yard touchdown just as the first quarter came to an end.

The Panthers would take the lead late in the second quarter, with Emarion Hampton taking an end-around in for a touchdown on 4th down. Despite an almost successful hailmary by Cambridge, the Panthers would take a 12-7 lead into the locker room.

The second half proved to be all Perryville, with the Panthers outscoring Cambridge 20-0 featuring two touchdowns from Khaleell Mitchell, one more on the ground from Nasuta.

Cambridge finishes the 2018 season with a final record of 7-4.
