One suspect arrested on gun charges, another wanted in Dover
DOVER, Del. – Dover Police are still searching for a suspect wanted in connection to an altercation that took place Thursday evening in Dover.
At around 9:30 PM, officers were near the 200 block of West Reed Street when they saw 32-year-old Abdul Tillery become engaged in an altercation with an unknown subject. Tillery was then seen walking towards a trash can, where he picked up an object and concealed it in the front pocket of his hooded sweatshirt.
Officers believed the object was a firearm and attempted to make contact with Tillery, however, Tillery fled from officers on foot. It was then that he reportedly threw a loaded 9 mm handgun over a fence in the 100 block of S. Governor’s Avenue. Tillery was caught following a short foot pursuit.
During the foot pursuit, 31-year-old Adriene Stevenson allegedly grabbed and shoved an officer and attempted to trip him to prevent him from arresting Tillery. He fled the area before police could locate him, and is currently wanted on resisting arrest with force, offensive touching on law enforcement, and hindering prosecution charges.
Tillery was charged with possession of a firearm during commission of a felony, two counts of possession of firearm by person prohibited, carry concealed deadly weapon, resisting arrest with force, tampering with physical evidence, and violation of probation.
