MSP investigating fatal crash in Greensboro

GREENSBORO, Md. – Maryland State Police are currently investigating a crash that left two dead Wednesday morning.

Police say the incident occurred on Route 313 near Union Road at around 11 AM.

According to a preliminary investigation, a 2018 Ford Focus crossed the center line for unknown reasons and hit a 2013 Dodge Dart head-on. A 2010 Nissan SUV was behind the Dodge and was also involved in the crash.

The driver of the Ford, 42-year-old Andrew Bixler, of Goldsboro, was taken to Kent General Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

The driver of the Dodge, 34-year-old Christina Godfrey, of Marydel, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the Nissan, 30-year-old Carley Jo Elburn, of Marydel, and a 3-year-old passenger were injured in the crash and were taken to Kent General Hospital for treatment.
