MD: Local church offers free Thanksgiving meals to those in need

FRUITLAND, Md. –  In Fruitland, the First Baptist Church spent their day handing out free thanksgiving meals to anyone who was in need of one. They say they’ve been doing this for residents in the area for close to 30 years. And on Thursday we spoke with one of the church members who told us exactly what the day was all about.

“The first year it started out we were just going to feed the homeless, but then we found out that there were people who just needed a meal and some fellowship, so today we are serving over 800 dinners and delivering over 800 dinners to those who need one,” said Terry Wood.
