Maryland Eastern Shore women down Salisbury in Ten Mile Tip Off

The first ever Ten Mile Tip Off hit the Wicomico Youth and Civic Center Thursday night with an exhibition between the University of Maryland Eastern Shore and Salisbury University.

In the women’s game, CiCi Byrom led the Hawks to a 60-41 win, posting 18 points, 9 assists and 3 rebounds while Bairesha Gill-Miles added a double-double of 12 points and 12 rebounds.

For the Sea Gulls, Kaylyn French dropped a team-high 16 points while snagging 10 rebounds.

The Shore would carry a 28-19 lead into the break and would go onto outscore Salisbury by double digits in the second half.

UMES will open their 2018-2019 regular season on the road against East Carolina University on November 6th.

For Salisbury, the Gulls open regular season play November 14th at home against Virginia Wesleyan.
