Maggie’s Coat Drive to benefit local families in need

Frankford, Del. – In Sussex County, one nine-year-old girl is making a difference in her community.

Maggie Bare started a coat drive last year and has already given out more than 100 coats to families in need, and she said she wants to beat her record for this season.

But, she is asking the community to help.

She said she is taking all sizes of coats, new or old and they can be dropped off at Selbyville Middle School, Frankford Town Hall and the Milton Police Department.

Bare said she is inspired by her aunt and teacher who tells her it is important to give back.

“It means a lot to me because I wanted to help my community,” said Bare.

“In class, we’re talking about how we can help the community, and so I decided to help my community by doing coat drives,” said Bare.

Bare said her coat drive will run until January 2019.
