UPDATE: $1.5 million in damages after apartment complex fire

LONG NECK, Del. – The Delaware Office of the State Fire Marshal is continuing to investigate a massive fire that destroyed an apartment building under construction in Delaware last night.

The fire happened in the Carillon Woods apartment complex, located in the 34000 block of Harvard Avenue, near the intersection of Routes 24 and 5. The Indian River Fire Company responded to the call shortly after 9 PM.

We’re told that state fire investigators are on scene trying to determine the origin and cause of the blaze, but officials say there was no electricity running into the complex yet.

Estimated fire damage currently exceeds $1,500,000. No injuries were reported as a result of the incident.
