Georgetown gearing up for holidays, hosting Christmas caroling

GEORGETOWN, Del. – Folks in Georgetown are getting into the Christmas spirit as they get ready for the holidays.

47 ABC is told on Monday the downtown area will turn into a holiday wonderland, complete with Christmas caroling.

The event is sponsored by the Sussex County Government and they say it’s a great opportunity to get to know your neighbors, donate food items to those in need, and just get into the festive holiday spirit.

Town Manager Gene Dvornick said, “Its an opportunity to fill the pod with food for the homeless, take advantage of beautiful Christmas carols and singers. We also have a light show at the end of it with laser lights.”

In addition to the caroling, Thursday December 6th is the Georgetown Christmas parade. This will mark its 50th Anniversary.
