Dover man facing numerous charges in connection with rape incident
MILFORD, Del. – A Dover man is facing charges after he allegedly raped a woman at gunpoint last month.
Police say that the incident was reported shortly before 9 AM on October 2nd, at a residence in the 800 block of SE Fourth St, in Milford. The victim told police that the suspect had raped them while in possession of a knife, then fled from the home.
The suspect was identified as 31-year-old Kamau Graves, of Dover. An arrest warrant was issued for Graves, and on November 2nd, he was located inside a residence in the 200 block of Horton St in Dover. He was charged with three counts of first degree rape, one count of possession of a deadly weapon during the commission of a felony, one count of aggravated menacing, and one count of first degree unlawful imprisonment.
Graves was presented and committed to the Department of Corrections in default of $207,000 cash only bail, along with a no contact order with the victim. He has been ordered to appear in the Sussex County Court of Common Pleas for a preliminary hearing at a later date.
