Dorchester Co. school donates to Heavenly Hats
CAMBRIDGE, Md. – Students at Maple Elementary School recently participated in the Heavenly Hats Hat Parade to raise money for a good cause.
Each student was asked to donate $1, in exchange for the ability to wear their favorite hat to school during the day on Friday, October 5th.
The money raised from this day was donated to Heavenly Hats, an organization that collects and distributes brand new hates to people who have lost their hair as a result of cancer treatments. Since the organization began back in 2001, Heavenly Hats has distributed more than 4 million new hats to hundreds of hospitals and clinics across the country.
At the end of the day, students had a parade around the school to show off their hats.
