Update: Del. State Police investigating fatal crash in Cheswold

CHESWOLD, Del. – Delaware State Police are investigating a late night crash that left one dead in Cheswold.

We’re told that just before 11:30 PM Tuesday, a Ford F-150 that was traveling northbound on U.S. North DuPont Highway south of Cheswold collided with a tour bus as it approached the traffic light at Jerome Drive. The tour bus was reportedly slowing down as it approached the red light, and had almost stopped when the F-150 hit the bus from the rear.

The driver of the F-150, 42-year-old John E. Lowman 3rd, from Kenton, Delaware, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The commercial bus was carrying four passengers, traveling to Chinatown in New York City. Nobody on the bus was injured as a result of the crash.
