DART’s 21st Annual Stuff The Bus Thanksgiving Food Drive
DELAWARE– The holidays will soon be here. A time for laughter and cheer, but for some families it can be a difficult time. Especially, for those needing food assistance.
Which is why DART is looking to stuff the bus, with your help. On Monday November 5th, through Saturday November 10th, DART will be hosting their annual Stuff the Bus Thanksgiving drive.
For 21 years DART has been in partnership with the Food Bank of Delaware to help those in need. This year they will be at seven different locations and hope to give 20 tons of non perishable items.
Officials are looking for things like stuffing, instant mashed potatoes, canned vegetables, as well as everyday items like peanut butter.
“You never know who is in need of food assistance. Its not something you can visually see. It could be your neighbor. It could be a friend of yours or a co worker. So hunger doesn’t really have any signs and a large portion in Delaware who need food assistance are children,” says Patty Boyd, Marketing Specialist for DART.
