Crisfield field hockey drops in 1A semi to South Carroll

For the second straight year, Crisfield field hockey wasn’t able to get over the hump and into the 1A Maryland state finals, dropping 2-0 to South Carroll in the state semis 2-0 Wednesday night.

Last year, the Crabbers dropped in the same game to Patuxent after emerging champions of the 1A East.

Tied 0-0 at half, both defenses stood tall, but nobody stood out more than Crisfield goalie Taylor Swann. Save after save, the sophomore kept the Crabbers in it until two second-half South Carroll goals ended it.

In head coach Hannah Goldsborough’s first year as the helm, the Crabbers finish with a record of 10-6.
