Berlin’s ‘Artists Giving Back’ event in need of volunteers
BERLIN, Md. – A group of locals are trying to keep the spirit of giving alive post Thanksgiving. The Berlin Arts and Entertainment Committee is once again hosting the ‘Artists Giving Back” event.
It’s an event that has provided hundreds of hot meals for local people in need and this year it’s happening on Giving Tuesday to give those who are hungry another hot meal after the several other non profits host their Thanksgiving dinner.
Those in charge tell us everyone in the community is pitching in to help.
“We have some amazing restaurants and culinary artists in this town so we decided to reach out to them and see if they were interested in providing a meal for the hungry so this is our third year providing a meal for the hungry and it’s provided simply by the area, the immediate restaurants that are here in Berlin,” explains Robin Tomaselli, owner of Baked Dessert Cafe and board member for Berlin Arts.
But to put this all on, they are looking for some last-minute help. They are in need of volunteers to help during the event on November 27th at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church to lend a hand picking up the meals from the local restaurants. They could also use donations because the more food they have the more people they can feed.
