Beebe breaks ground for new health campus

MILLVILLE, Del. – Beebe Healthcare ceremoniously broke ground for construction of its new South Coastal Health Campus in Millville Thursday afternoon.

This new campus will include a cancer center, and will supply more services to those in the southeast portion of Sussex County.

Those residents in the Bethany Beach, Millville and Dagsboro area will soon be able to get their healthcare locally, instead of having to make the trek to Lewes and Rehoboth Beach.

This is all part of Beebe’s $240 million expansion plans, the largest in its history.

“It’ll make it so much easier for them to access services instead of having to travel up to Lewes or Rehoboth, particularly during the summer when we all know there’s a lot more traffic.  They’ll be able to come right here and get the same level of care that they could get up in Lewes or Rehoboth,” said president and CEO Jeffrey Fried.

This new campus is scheduled to open in late spring of 2020.
