Bay Bridge reopened, overturned tractor trailer

MARYLAND – All lanes on the Chesapeake Bay Bridge were reopened around 5 p.m. on Thursday, after a tractor trailer overturned earlier in the day.

The Maryland Transportation Authority says, just before 10 a.m., a tractor trailer overturned in the Westbound lane just before the bridge span.

One Eastbound lane was closed and Westbound traffic was redirected into that closed Eastbound lane.

Around 4 p.m. on Thursday,  Eastbound traffic had about a 9 mile delay and Westbound traffic had a 5 miles delay.

There’s no word yet on what might have caused the accident.
