4th annual Hero Day set for Nov. 10
SALISBURY, Md. – Event organizers hope the sunshine will stay for Saturday’s 4th Annual Hero Day.
This year, the 5k and kid’s race will be held at the Salisbury City Park starting at 8 AM on Saturday, November 10. Officials say Hero Day started with four community members, all military affiliated, who decided to create a community event to bring our civilian and veteran community members together for a day of physical fitness, community building, awareness and appreciation.
“The importance of hero day is bridging that gap of understanding between those that have experience with the military and being a servant of a community and a nation and those that don’t maybe. Everybody has questions and everybody wants that understanding to know their neighbor a little better to know their friend a little better. We think this is a good way to do it,” said Alison Pulcher, event coordinator.
If you’re interested in participating in the race you can either register online or on the day of the event. Learn more about Hero Day by visiting the event’s Facebook page, here.
For adults, registration will cost $30 and it’s $15 for kids. Officials add that all of the proceeds made from Hero Day will go directly to Operation We Care.
