Workshop helps local students find scholarship funds

DAGSBORO, Del. –  Students who have their eyes on college got to benefit from a scholarship workshop this evening.

The event was put on by the Indian River School District and $tand By Me.

The workshop is aimed at helping students and families find scholarships that they could utilize, along with essential tips on how to write effective essays.

Students were also given the opportunity to meet with local colleges and organizations offering scholarship opportunities this year.

We’re told students who have attending this event have been helped immensely.

“One student in particular stands out in my mind that her whole first year of college was paid after she came to the scholarship workshop and realized how much money is out there,” said Michele Murphy, the community education coordinator for Indian River School District.
