Woman sentenced in first degree murder case
CAMBRIDGE, Md. – A woman convicted on murder, assault, and firearms charges was sentenced on Thursday in Dorchester County.
40-year-old Lasonya Corrine Sargent is facing life in prison for first degree murder, and an additional 20 years for use of firearm during the commission of a felony or a crime of violence.
On August 24th, Sargent was convicted of first degree murder, second degree murder, first degree assault, and use of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime. The charges date back to the January 30th, 2018 murder of 35-year-old Sharod Mack.
