Wicomico Co. Dept. of Corrections inmate reportedly dies; investigation ongoing

SALISBURY, Md. – Officials say that an inmate at the Wicomico County Department of Corrections died on Friday afternoon.

According to the Wicomico County Office of the County Executive, 23-year-old Wayne Dean Davis, Jr., passed away at the Peninsula Regional Medical Center shortly after 3 PM.

The cause and manner of the death are pending an autopsy.

Davis’ death is under investigation, and we will continue to provide updates as they become available.
