Ultimate Farm Tour coming to Delaware this fall

REHOBOTH BEACH, Del. – Delmarva Discovery Tours is teaming up with Baxter Farms, Inc. to offer a combine experience tour this fall.

This tour offers participants the opportunity to visit a local farm and ride along with a local farmer during harvest. Guests will experience a meet and greet with local farmer Jay Baxter and members of his family, who will educate visitors on the modern farming practices they currently use on their family farm.

After the meet and greet, participants will have the chance to climb into the cab of a Gleaner combine and ride along while rows of corn or soybeans are harvested. Snacks will be offered in the field as guests enjoy their combine ride.

Following the harvest, a visit to Hopkins Farm Creamery is planned for ice cream and a chance to visit local dairy cows. If time allows, a third stop will be made to a small local farm, depending on day of the week and farmer availability.

The Ultimate Farm Tour includes transportation, farm hats, snacks, beverages, ice cream, and photography of your adventure.

Tours will be offered on Saturdays, Mondays, and Wednesdays from 11 AM to 3 PM during harvest season. Reservations are required with 12 hours advance notice. Participants should meet at their retail shop, located at 19470 Coastal Highway #5, in Rehoboth Beach. There is a minimum of six people per group in order for the tour to operate.
