Two OC businesses robbed at gunpoint; four suspects arrested
OCEAN CITY, Md. – Four people burst through the doors of two Ocean City businesses, holding a gun and demanding money around 8 p.m. Sunday.
Public Information Officer for the Ocean City Police Department said, “This was definitely two isolated incidents.”
According to police reports, when officers first responded to the Castle in the Sands Hotel, they were told a suspect held a customer at gunpoint and stole various things from his pockets.
Just minutes later, police say the same suspects hit the 7-Eleven in the area of 94th street on Coastal highway where they held up a store clerk and, again, stole cash.
Richard said, “One suspect pointed a gun at the clerk and the other stole money out of the cash register.”
Police later found the suspects leaving a restaurant near 62nd street.
They identify 21 year-old Adrian W. Matthews of Seaford, Delaware and 19 year-old Kevone Bunting of Georgetown, Delaware as the two male suspects. The two female suspects are 20 year-old Kiya M. Conner and 19 year-old Brittney M. Taylor, both from Salisbury, Maryland.
Richard said, “Through investigation, they determined these individuals were responsible for both of those robberies.”
Police tell 47 ABC each suspect has been charged with two counts of robbery, two counts of second-degree assault, and two counts of theft of $100 to $1,500.
Richard said, “We’re grateful that we were able to get them into custody very quickly after they committed those two crimes.”
