Three arrested on drug charges in Dorchester Co.
CAMBRIDGE, Md. – A search for a wanted fugitive lead to the arrest of three people on drug charges on October 25th.
Members of the Dorchester County Sheriff’s Office, the Cambridge Police Department, Maryland State Police Gang Unit, Maryland State Police Fugitive Team, and the Capitol Area Fugitive Task Force all teamed up to capture 25-year-old Charles Anthony Jackson Jr., of Cambridge, who was wanted after he escaped from the District Court Commissioners Office back on April 5th, 2018. At the time of escape, he was being arraigned on possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, possession of cocaine, providing a false name to a police officer, and obstructing and hindering a police officer charges.
He had been spotted earlier in the day on the 25th, riding in a Ford pick-up truck, which officers later located in the area of Maryland Avenue and Rambler Road. Upon conducting a traffic stop, both Jackson and 23-year-old Javier Jevonte Michaux of Easton fled on foot. They both were captured after a brief foot chase.
Jackson faces additional charges of second degree escape, possession of paraphernalia, possession of crack cocaine, possession of powder cocaine, theft under $100, and failure to appear. He was ordered held without bond.
Michaux was charged with possession of marijuana over 10 grams and was released on $7,500 bond.
The driver of the pickup, 25-year-old Kevin Mackenzie Fields of Cordova, was also arrested and charged with possession of cocaine, possession of paraphernalia, possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, and harboring a fugitive. He is currently being held without bond.
