Suspect charged in connection to Millsboro homicide

MILLSBORO, Del. – Delaware State Police have arrested a man in connection to a weekend death investigation.

At approximately 10:30 AM Saturday, police were dispatched to the 26000 block of Schooner Lane in the Rehoboth Shores development, for a check on a welfare complaint. The victim, identified as 69-year-old Lorraine Bradley, had reportedly not been heard from in a week and her vehicle was missing from the home. Troopers found Bradley dead in a bedroom of the home. Officials say the residence appeared to have been gone through with a few items thrown around, but there were no obvious signs of forced entry.

An autopsy revealed the cause of death to be manual strangulation.

Following investigative measures, the victim’s grandson, 30-year-old George A. Bailey 3rd, was identified as a suspect. Bailey was found at the Greenwood Inn and taken into custody for a violation of probation and committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution.

Bailey was charged with first degree murder and theft of a motor vehicle on Monday. He remains committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution on $1,002,000 cash only bond.
