Small Farm Conference celebrating 15 years at UMES
PRINCESS ANNE, Md. – UMES is hosting their 15th annual Small Farm Conference on Friday and Saturday, November 2nd and 3rd.
Attendees can look forward to learning about fresh outlooks, practical solutions and up-to-the-minute info about fermentation, soil, beekeeping, and more. UMES Extension educators along with industry specialists will be in attendance, teaching various sessions important to novice farmers as well as experienced farmers.
Hands-on demonstrations, field tours, and workshops and seminars are in the plans for Friday, ending with an informational reception and networking social. Saturday will offer courses within alternative agriculture, business & marketing, and beginning farmer. An “Ask the Experts Farmer Panel” will also take place on Saturday.
The event will be held in the Student Services Center on the campus of UMES in Princess Anne. On-site registration will begin at 9 AM Friday, November 2nd.
This conference is being held in tandem with the Delmarva Soil Summit, scheduled for Thursday, November 1st from 9 AM to 5:15 PM. A special discount will be offered to those wishing to attend both events.
Registration fees are $50 per person or $90 for a party of two if you register on or before Monday, October 15th. After this date, fees go up to $60 per person, or $30 per person for one day only. The vendor and/or exhibitor fee is $100.
