September 2018: Second Warmest September on Record in Salisbury
If you thought this September seemed warmer than usual, you’re right! The average temperature last month was 75.4°, the normal average is 68.2°. That’s 7.2° warmer than average for the month! The warmest high temperature in September 2018 was 93°, and there were five days with high temperatures of 90° or above. The coldest low temperature was 54° on September 29.
As far as precipitation goes, Salisbury received 5.26” of rain, which is over an inch above average for the month. That makes this September the 21st wettest on record.
Since September was unseasonably warm, what can we expect for October? According to the Climate Prediction Center, more above average temperatures are in store. Precipitation wise, we can expect close to average rainfall.
