UPDATE: Suspects identified in Seaford motel robbery; one in custody
SEAFORD, Del. – The Seaford Police Department is currently investigating an armed robbery that took place early Saturday morning.
Shortly after 2 AM, officers were dispatched to the Motel 6 located on Sussex Highway, for a reported armed robbery. Police learned that two males reportedly entered the hotel, when one suspect showed a handgun to the clerk while the other suspect removed an undisclosed amount of money from the cash register. Both suspects then fled on foot towards the back of the hotel.
The two suspects have been identified as 21-year-old Adrian Matthews Jr., and 19-year-old Jaquan Darling, both of Seaford. Matthews is currently being held in Worcester County pending extradition back to Delaware to be formally charged in connection to the robbery.
Police are still searching for Darling. They say he is known to frequent the Milford area.
