Salisbury University to host 5th Annual “Zombie-Infested” Halloween 5K
SALISBURY, Md. – Salisbury University is getting ready for a spooktacular weekend.
The university tells 47 ABC they will host their 5th annual “zombie-infested” Halloween five kilometer race.
Hold on to your brains, as this weekend’s race runners will be dressed as zombies and other kooky characters and it’s all for a good cause.
The big race will be followed by the walk and other Halloween festivities.
The university says 100 percent of proceeds from this weekend’s race will benefit United Way of the Lower Eastern Shore.
The race starts at 11 a.m. Saturday outside of Magg’s Gym on SU’s campus.
Registration for SU students, walkers, and kids under 10 years is $10 and $25 for non-students and adults.
Eleanor Brown the Fundraising chair for SU’s Student United Way organization said, “We encourage runners and walkers to come out dressed up in their favorite Halloween costumes because we will have a costume contest after the run and walk with our after party. We’d love for you just to come out and support United Way and help us raise money for great charities and our organization.”
The event is rain or shine and registration is open until 10 a.m. Saturday and you can sign up on online at unitedway4us.org/5k.
