Salisbury participating in ‘No Shave November’ raising awareness for cancer
SALISBURY, Md. – Its that time of year again No Shave November is back and the city of Salisbury is getting a head of the game.
On Monday, Mayor Jake day was shaving the heads and beards of city workers, to get ready for a the month long event and its all for a good cause.
By participating, the city is raising awareness for prostate cancer and PRMC’s cancer support group.
Mayor Day says he hopes everyone will join in, donate to the cause, and stand in solidarity with those currently fighting cancer in our area.
“We’re growing out our beards around here. We are no participating in a second month of awareness building around cancers and cancer treatment as well as testing so this is just one way to do it!”
As a reminder, officials say 1 in 9 men diagnosed with prostate cancer so its important to get routine screenings.
All proceeds raised from no shave will go directly to PRMC’s cancer support group.
