Salisbury man facing assault and attempted murder charges

SALISBURY, Md. – A Salisbury man is facing assault charges after police say he pulled out a knife during an argument with a coworker.

Shortly after 3 PM on October 10th, a deputy responded to a report of an altercation in the 27000 block of Pemberton Drive. When police arrived, they learned that 29-year-old Samuel Gomez and a coworker became engaged in an argument, during which Gomez produced a knife. Witnesses say that Gomez then lunged at his coworker with the knife before other coworkers were able to restrain him.

Gomez reportedly left the scene before police arrived, resulting in a warrant being issued for his arrest.

Gomez was located later that evening at approximately 9 PM. He was taken into custody and charged with attempted first degree murder, first degree assault, dangerous weapon, and reckless endangerment. Following an initial appearance, Gomez was detained without bond in the detention center.
