Salisbury football hold off Montclair St., moves to 6-0

SALISBURY, Md.- Bend but don’t break.

That’s all the Salisbury University football team had to do on Saturday to stay undefeated. Leading 17-0 at halftime, the Gulls held off a furious, second-half comeback from from Montclair State (NJ) (5-1) to move to 6-0 on the year.

Forcing two fumbles, getting three sacks and picking off four passes, Coach Sherman Wood’s defense was able to keep them in the game as the offense stalled in the second half.

SU (6-0) will travel to Southern Virginia next week, as they look to stay undefeated ahead of their October 27th matchup with Wesley.
