SALISBURY, Md. – Members of the Rotary Club of Salisbury rode in the 2018 Seagull Century as a fundraiser for the Salisbury Christian Shelter.

For the 13th year in a row, the Rotary Club took part in the ride as a way to raise funds to support the Christian Shelter, a local crisis homeless shelter. So far this year, they have raised over $6,0000 in pledges, bringing their 13-year total to over $55,000. This money goes towards caring for families in crisis at the shelter.

We’re told the Sunrise Rotary and Wicomico Rotary clubs also supported the riders from the Salisbury Rotary Club.

The funds given to the Christian Shelter this year will be used for operating expenses. In 2017, they took in more than 1,100 homeless individuals, 427 of which were children. Due to space limitations, an additional 1,600 who were looking for shelter were turned away in the same year.
