Retired Beebe surgeon to be featured in episode of PBS series
LEWES, Del. – Retired Beebe vascular surgeon Mayer Katz, MD, will be featured on an episode of the PBS series “We’ll Meet Again” next month.
Portions of the episode were filmed at Beebe Healthcare’s Margaret H. Rollins Lewes Campus, and Beebe Cardiac & Vascular Executive Director Lynn Amey will also be featured in the episode.
The episode is entitled “Saved in Vietnam”, and features Roger, who begins a journey to find and thank the vascular surgeon who saved his life and his leg during the Vietnam War. The journey takes him to Lewes in an attempt to locate the now retired Dr. Katz, who was a surgeon in a MASH during the war.
We’ll Meet Again is a series produced and reported by Ann Curry, telling the stories of ordinary people caught up in the tides of history, looking to be reunited with those who helped them survive these events. This episode is part of the second season premiere of the series.
The episode is scheduled to air on November 13th at 8 PM on PBS.
