Officials open health facility in Salisbury to combat obesity on Eastern Shore
SALISBURY, Md. – In an effort to combat the obesity issues health officials are seeing here on the Eastern Shore, CoreLife Delmarva has partnered with PRMC officials to open up a new health facility to help residents lose weight. According to health officials, the lower shore has much higher rates of obesity compared to the rest of the state. They say new core life facility will provide weight loss services in a structured supportive environment to help people take control of their health, and manage their weight and nutrition.
“They’re going to get the medical aspect of it whether that’s a nurse or nurse practitioner or physician they’re going to get a dietitian they’ll see that dietitian four times a month which is unheard of basically then we have trainers we have a gym and then we have counseling if needed,” said physician liaison Chip Leonard.
Leonard adds that they expect to open up more of the fitness centers across Delmarva including in Berlin, Millsboro, Seaford, and Chester.
