Millsboro woman arrested for 7th DUI offense

MILLSBORO, Del. – Delaware State Police have arrested a woman following a single vehicle hit and run crash over the weekend.

Just before 3:30 PM Sunday, police were called to respond to the 26000 block of Starboard Road for a report of a hit and run crash. When officers arrived, a resident reported that his mailbox was struck by a maroon Ford work van.

After further investigation, officials identified the driver as 56-year-old Kim M. Toohey.

Troopers located Toohey driving a different vehicle on Sassafras Road and began a DUI investigation after detecting the odor of alcohol from her vehicle. It was then learned that Toohey had six previous DUI convictions.

Officers also found drug paraphernalia inside the vehicle.

Toohey was taken to Troop 7 on several DUI and drug charges. She was arraigned and committed to the Delores J. Baylor Women’s Correctional Institution on $20,602 cash only bond.
