Maryland State Police participating in National Prescription Drug Take Back Day

PIKESVILLE, Md. – Maryland State Police (MSP) are joining forces with the Drug Enforcement Administration to host National Prescription Drug Take Back Day.

On Saturday, October 27th, from 10 AM to 2 PM, all 23 MSP barracks statewide will act as collection stations to give residents a chance to dispose of any and all unwanted and unused prescription drugs.

The goal of National Prescription Drug Take Back Day is to provide a safe, convenient, and responsible means of disposing of prescription drugs, while educating the general public about the potential for abuse of medications.

During the last initiative in April 2018, troopers collected over 2,000 pounds of prescription drugs. Since 2014, Maryland State Police have collected over 17,0000 pounds of prescription drugs through similar initiatives.

If you aren’t able to make it on Saturday, we’re told that you can drop them off to any state police barrack any time or day throughout the year.
