Locals “Petal It Forward” for a cause

SALISBURY, Md. – On Wednesday, a group of people took to the streets of Salisbury to brighten up people’s day with not one, but two bouquets of flowers.

Robin Gravenor, the Owner of Kitty’s Flowers tells 47ABC, her shop was taking part in a national movement called Petal It Forward.

Here’s how it works: Flower shops across the country give a stranger two bouquets of flowers. One is for them, and the other is for them to give away to another person.

This allows a stranger to enjoy both the feeling of receiving the flowers, as well as the feeling of giving flowers away to brighten someone else’s day.

Gravenor said, “Everybody loves flowers I mean, even the hardest guys love flowers you know, and it’s just nice to have it just brightens everybody’s day just to walk in your house and have fresh flowers sitting there.”

Wednesday’s participants hope their actions encourage more people to pay it forward in the future.
