Local restaurants take part in Taste of the Town competition
SALISBURY, Md. – The best of local restaurants were on display at the annual Taste of the Town Iron Chef competition.
Eleven vendors set up shop displaying their best dishes with places like Roadie Joe’s, East Moon and Box Car competing.
We’re told the event is structured as a competition with a cash prize and plaque given to the spot with the best food, but the real winners are the local shops who get a large audience to taste what they have to offer.
“It gives them a lot of publicity. The opportunity to showcase a signature dish and show it to the public and have them decide if it’s really the best is really great for their businesses,” said Morgan Coulson, the director for marketing for the Salisbury Chamber of Commerce.
We told the chamber looks at events like this as ways to attract new businesses to downtown.
